Supported by the Kauffman Foundation, Cultivating Writers is a Race Project KC offshoot initiative for spring 2021. It gives interested students, with adult instruction and support, a chance to reflect, share, learn, examine, discuss, and create pieces of writing that call for equitable quality education as it relates to race, equity, and inclusion. This page is where students submit and display their written pieces. For more details, see our web feature for the first workshop.
Op Ed Writing Prompts:

Do you see yourself reflected back in your school? Think about whether you see representation in staff/students, images on the walls that make you feel connected to aspects of your identity, subgroups that you belong to, etc.?
How has your education enabled or inspired you to create change, and what change will that be?
Should our educational lives lead us to be actively engaged as civic participants? If so, does this include protesting? Why or why not?
